Carole's Story
Life
What's new since high school? Hmmm...I'm a Mom, Step-mom and a Grandma. I'm a wife and an aunt. I'm even a Mother-in-Law! Yikes!!!
I volunteer with the homeless and the alcoholic and addicted at our local homeless shelter and treatment facility. I help with finding good homes for animals in need. Most of the time, they end up at my house. That's why I have 2 dogs, 11 cats and a couple of fish.
In my spare time, I'm the Director of Administrative Services, which includes HR, payroll, benefits, Legal, purchasing, etc. for an up-and-coming new music software company and loving life.
I currently live in Burlington, NC and miss my Maryland and West Virginia friends and family! The newest picture of me is when I was visiting my brother in the hospital. He has cancer and it's moved to his brain. We found out for sure the night before this picture was taken. I'm going to keep him laughing for as long as I can.
If you remember me, drop me a line. We actually moved around quite a bit. When I first got to Maryland, we lived in Oak Ridge Apartments (7th grade - E. Russell Hicks). Then, moved to Maugansville and can't even remember the name of the school I went to in the 8th grade (DQ right across the street - I think it was on Washington Street). Then, my parents split up and we moved to Halfway Manor...so, I ended up at Williamsport High School. Some of my teachers were Ms. Twigg for English; Mr. Hoover for Earth Sciences and Mr. Hose for Math.
I wasn't usually around one place long eno...Expand for more
ugh to make lasting friendships, so I may not have even made an impression on you.
There are some people that meant something to me in the brief times they were in my life. There were some people at WHS that I was close to and am trying to reconnect and catch up and to say thank you.
I moved many years ago and lost touch with most of the people I know. I moved to WV and then to NC. We've been here since 1995 and it's great down here. Not much snow! :-)
I was and still am an avid reader. I will read just about anything I can get my hands on.
My youngest child (daughter) got married in September. My oldest (son) has 1 step-daughter and a daughter and son, so I'm a grandmother. My step-son is 24.
My husband is a computer programmer/analyst and was a die-hard Redskins fan, but after many years of being down here, he's caved in and is now a supporter of the Panthers.
We live in a small town, between 2 cities. We have theaters and museums and concerts close by. We're just a few hours from the mountains and a few hours from the beach.
I am a new motorcycle rider. Got my license in February and inherited a HD Sportster from my hubby. Just went today (5.09.08) and bought a brand new HD Dyna Low Rider. I'm looking forward to a lot of riding this year!!! Update - I have put almost 3000 miles on it since May. It's now the middle of December and it's parked for the moment. :o(
